Recent Media reports (including Daily Star June 4th 2009) states the health benefits of a ‘spicy Indian meal once or twice a week could lengthen you life’. The spice turmeric used in many Indian dishes has been studied and shown to have beneficial effects including reduced risk of dementia. Further studies of a protein called curcumin (derived from turmeric) have been associated with helping in weight loss, arthritis, chronic fatigue. So you can enjoy a delicious meal and know there are also many positive health benefits.
When preparing our meals we only use the minimum amount of salt and sugar in our dishes. We use cream and oils sparingly and only use virgin olive oils for pan frying and monounsaturated or polyunsaturated oils for deep frying. We use fresh ingredients including vegetables, spices & herbs.
Important notice for people with nut allergies – please note that we use nuts (coconut and peanut) in the preparation and cooking for some of my dishes. Therefore, there may be nut traces in some of our meals.
